REALITY

Driving home I was listening to some random talk radio station. Could have been NPR news. They were doing a story about this guy. I only caught the end of the story but this is what he said. 

"One of my goals is to make it to Heaven. I was an addict but have been clean for 7 1/2 years. and one of the steps we learned, is to do the right next thing. That's what I try to do, live righteous and treat others kind. And do the next right thing."

I thought to myself "That goal can be a REALITY!" If only he knew! ...why doesn't he know? 

In that moment I thought of people who actually don't know what the Lord Jesus Christ did for them on that cross. 
It was a reality check for me, because I wondered how many people have I told about the Lord? How many more could I tell..?

"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

I wanted to tell that man on the radio, that Heaven is attainable if only he chose to except that gift. To believe in his heart & confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, ask him to be the Lord of his life, casting all pain, addiction, hurt, dirt, sin and anything else that keeps him in bondage upon him. That's why Jesus died. NO...THAT'S WHY JESUS LIVES!

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God," Ephesians 2:8-9 

Except this free gift from the Lord.
