LAUGHTER

Martin Luther King once said, "It is cheerful to God when you rejoice or laugh from the bottom of your heart." 

Right after the new year, I began to reflect a lot about the past year. One thing that bothered me was that I felt as if I didn't laugh as much as I should have. It seemed I let moments of laughter pass me by. Was I to busy? Was I a grumpy person?! How could I love the joy and peace that the Lord gives, but not live it out?

So I prayed to the Lord for help in this particular area. I prayed for my soul to lighten up, to not stress over the dirty dishes, pile of laundry, huge to-do list, or the many other trivial concerns that might steal my joy. I just wanted to recognize and feel the joy and laughter that I remember having when I first became a child of God.

Sometimes life doesn't go as planned. Sometimes life is a daily struggle. But don't let the trial of this life stifle the fact that you are chosen. That you belong to an Almighty King! Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!

Laughter is such a blessing to yourself and others. When was the last time you had a good hearty laugh? Choose laughter, choose Joy.
