GOOD ENOUGH
I was asked a few years ago to take photos for an event. I was not a professional photographer by any means, I just really enjoyed taking pictures. Everywhere I went I had a my camera with.
I happily agreed to take the pictures. So all that day I spent snapping shots that looked beautiful to me. At the end of the day, I was very pleased with my work. After giving the pictures to the client, the reviews of the photos I took were less than stellar. So much so, I didn't pick up a camera for about a year.
I let the enemy fill my head with lies of not being good enough. Because of one negative review I pretty much forgot about the love and gift that I had for doing what I did. The joy I got taking photos of a family, child, graduate. I let that review make me think I was not good enough to take photographs in that capacity.
How many times have we let go or forgotten about a dream or goal we once had because we listened to the fear in our minds that we would never be good enough. Not good enough for that person, career, school, ministry, not a good enough mother, student, daughter, friend. The list goes on and on.
Today I'd like to remind you that in Christ you are good enough. Through his blood we are always good enough.
"being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"
Philippians 1:6

Thank you for this post. I was looking through my emails, clearing things out and found an email from Christian Women Bloggers on Google+. I wondered if there was any information about what was happening with the group when Google+ shuts down. I found your post there. Needless to say, I needed this today.
ReplyDeletePatrica, thank you so much for your post and for reading this! I post what God is speaking to me and I also need to hear it. I am so thankful it helped! P.S because I love History. Your last name reminds me of the famous spy Robert Townsend from the Revolutionary War! What a great last name!
