INTEGRITY

I went to Chipotle the other day for dinner, and asked for a bottle of water. The girl behind the counter told me that they had cups for water if I wanted one of those instead. I told her "Sure!!"

When I received my food I went to grab a drink with my cup.. I immediately reached for the sprite out of habit! But I quickly stopped and thought.. "Oh yeah this cup is for water!" I paused for a moment as the thought "even if I were to pour something other than water, they wouldn't be able to tell." Not that I was going to do it, but I just made the observation that there would be no way they would find out.

As fast at the thought entered my mind, The Holy Spirit rushed it out. The word Integrity popped in my mind. The Lord placed this upon my thoughts, "What would you want your child to do in this situation?" I personally would want them to be honest to God and to themselves. It was crazy how God used this as a teachable moment, but it was an important to him. I believe God wanted to take the time to teach me so I could teach my children. No matter the time or place, even if you think nobody Is watching, always do what's right. Have integrity. The book of Proverbs is filled with promises of those who choose righteousness

The word Integrity is found many times in the NKJV Bible. Even King David sang this unto the Lord.

The LORD shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me. (‭Psalms‬ ‭7‬:‭8‬ NKJV)

King David's son King Solomon also made it a point to mention integrity.

The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭3‬ NKJV)

I pray we teach or children these nuggets of truth, and remember them ourselves.
