SPEAK UP

I was listening to a radio story on VCY America, about a 10 year old and his family. His family decided to take their children to their own Church Christmas Party last wednesday, instead of the "Holiday Concert" at their school. The next day the School Social Worker and Counselor, brought the young boy in for questioning as to Why he wasn't at his concert. They asked questions like "Does your mom take medication?" "How many times a week do you go to church?" "Do you want to go to church?" "What church do you go too?" "Do you read the bible?", all those questions followed up with the statement... "We just think your mom is too Jesusy." After this they called his older sister in for similar questions. The mom got a call later saying social services wanted to talk with her.

Here's the kicker...this happened at an Elementary school in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Not to far from home hey? Right outside our own backyard.

This also reminds me of another story of a little girl in this SAME school who when told by her teacher she could bring any book from home to read, she brought her bible. When the teacher saw it, she told her she shouldn't have brought that book, that it wasn't allowed, and tossed it in the garbage! This girl was 6 years old!

This is what is boils down too, Yes we are Christian, Yes we are believers in Christ, Yes we are to love our enemies, but at what point do we SPEAK UP.?!
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.
 1 Peter 3:14

We have the right to worship, and read the bible, and share our gospel, just like others have their right to refuse it, if they so choose. We cannot continue to let people trample on our constitutional rights! Please don't be silent, if ever there is a situation where you feel your first amendment right is being attacked, SPEAK UP!

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Of course when we defend ourselves we must do it with respect...
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear
 1 Peter 3:15

God Bless Family
