SON

Today is National Son Day.

I want to share a very huge milestone that happened in his life.

Every year after being diagnosed in September 23, 2002 with Infantile Lymphocytic Leukemia at just 9 months old, yearly check up's at Children's Hospital had been a normal occurrence for our family. We walked the hall's every year as we saw the faces of many children throughout the years, and watch as the building change into the masterpiece it is today. The staff new us by name, they new the story of our preterm twins, and the struggle it had been for our family. The team at the Next Step Clinic became family, they loved us, and we loved them.

August 4, 2020 Christian walked out of the doors of Children's Hospital for his last visit as a patient, Christian had finally aged out of the Next Steps Survivorship Program. A program established in May of 2001 for childhood cancer survivors.  This program was vital in helping us as a family look to the future.

This program gave us important tools to take with us as Christian got older which were essential to our family. This milestone for our son is one that has been long awaited and finally has come into fruition. We thank God for his protection in our lives, for always sustaining our family, and loving us with an everlasting love! Christian today on National Son Day, Dad and I are so thankful for you. You are a survivor, and our hero! We love you so much and pray blessings, and favor over your life always.

"The Lord bless you and keep you the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace" Numbers. 6:24

Congratulations Bud. We love you so much!!

Love Mom & Dad
