HUGS SAVE LIVES!

As my children and I slowly study the book of Acts together. We came across Acts 20:10, where a young boy name Eutychus who was sitting in a window three stories up, was listening to the Apostle Paul share the gospel. Eutychus fell into a deep sleep; so deep that he fell three stories OUT of the window!

I was reminded of the times I fell asleep reading the Bible, I thought to myself "Lord, please forgive me for that!" LOL. It was what happend next that had our minds blown!
Paul went down, stretched himself on him, and hugged him hard. “No more crying,” he said. “There’s life in him yet.” Then Paul got up and served the Master’s Supper. And went on telling stories of the faith until dawn! On that note, they left—Paul going one way, the congregation another, leading the boy off alive, and full of life themselves. (‭Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭10-12‬ MSG)
My kiddos and I were amazed how an embrace, and faith brought this boy back to life! Paul was so confident he went back upstairs, ate, and talked until day break!

So my children started saying, "Hugs save lives!"
It wasn't until I read my Pastor's blog (which is a great read! let me know if you'd like his link) I was reminded that it was "National Hug Day."

How fitting! What an amazing blessing to be able to read how Paul's hug and faith brought a young man back to life. The same day as National Hug Day! How amazing to think that sometimes a hug is exactly what we need. When we are consoling someone, congratulation someone, loving someone, helping someone, leaving someone.

Since reading this in Acts this morning, my kiddos and I have been giving hugs to each other all day!
Remember "Hugs Save Lives!"

God Bless Family
